At KarmaKaari, we believe every product carries a story of craft, care, and conscious living. Here you’ll find quick answers about our yoga mats, props and the sustainable way we make and package them.
What are KarmaKaari Ekam classic yoga mats made of?
Our classic Ekam cork mats are crafted with a blend of natural cork and rubber on the top layer and a natural rubber or latex base. This combination ensures excellent grip, comfort, and durability while remaining eco-friendly and biodegradable.
Why choose cork or cotton over synthetic mats?
Cork, cotton and natural rubber are breathable, non-toxic, and biodegradable unlike PVC or TPE mats, which release microplastics, degrade quickly and cause immense harm to the Earth and our health.
How do I clean and care for my cork products?
Wipe gently with a soft cloth and a mixture of water and mild soap or diluted vinegar (¼ vinegar ¾ water solution). Avoid harsh chemicals and store rolled up in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
How are the yoga wheels made?
Each wheel is handcrafted by joining multiple pieces of curved wood made from Indian acacia by skilled artisans. We then add a bit of cushioning and grip with a rubberised cork panel. No plastics, no synthetic laminates — only solid, natural wood designed to last generations.
Are wooden blocks and wheels heavy?
They are denser than foam, but the natural weight provides grounding and stability, making them excellent for alignment and balance work.
What makes KarmaKaari blankets and shawls unique?
Our handloom shawls are woven in the Himalayas, India using traditional techniques with natural indigenous cotton and wool. Each piece carries the spirit of craftsmanship, offering warmth and comfort during meditation, yoga nidra, or everyday life.
How should I care for my handloom shawl and mat?
The Kosa Handloom Shawl and Sahaya Cotton Blanket can be machine washed at 40° and it becomes even softer after every wash. Gati fine wool shawl can be gently hand-washed in cold water with natural soap or eco dry-clean.
What are eye pillows filled with?
Our eye pillows are made with cotton silk fabric and filled with flaxseed and lavender. The cover can be removed and washed in the machine at 40°.
Are yoga bolsters firm or soft?
KarmaKaari bolsters are filled with natural cotton, giving them a balanced firmness—supportive for restorative yoga yet comfortable enough for long holds. The cotton canvas cover is removable and can be machine washed at 40°.
What is a Kansa Foot Vatki used for?
It is a traditional Ayurvedic tool made of kansa (a copper–tin alloy) used for foot massage especially at bedtime. It helps detox the body, improves circulation and promotes relaxation.
How do I use the Kansa Vatki?
Warm a little oil (like sesame or coconut), place your foot in the vatki, and massage gently in circular motions for at least 5 minutes at bedtime. This ritual is calming for the mind and nourishing for the body.
What is the black residue coming out of the Ojas and Charan Kansa tools?
The black residue that appears on any of our Kansa products during use is a harmless natural reaction between the oils and the bronze alloy, not a sign of toxins being removed from the body.
How do I clean my kansa tools?
The residue can be removed by wiping the wand with a soft, damp cloth or cotton pad with warm water after use. Ensure the Kansa tool is completely dry before storing it in a cool, dry place to prevent further oxidation.
Are KarmaKaari products eco-friendly?
Yes. All our products are crafted from natural, renewable materials—cork, cotton, wool, wood, and kansa. They are reusable, recyclable and designed for circular living.
Where are your products made?
Designed in Ireland and handcrafted in India, our collection is shaped by purpose, sustainability and a deep reverence for craft. Each piece reflects a mindful union of design and tradition.
How are KarmaKaari products packaged?
All our packaging is plastic-free and fully recyclable. We use heavy duty jute (hemp) or cotton bags with coconut shell buttons for all our products. Some of our wooden and kansa products are packaged in MDF boxes (made from wood waste) with metal branding which have been painted using toxin-free ink to make them moisture proof and more durable. Kraft paper and recycled cardboard is used for shipping. Every package is designed to be simple, minimal and aligned with our eco-friendly philosophy.
Do you use single-use plastics?
No. We are committed to a zero-plastic packaging policy. Instead, we use cotton bags, jute ties and MDF boxes where possible. Also the papers we print on are laminate free.
Can I reuse the packaging?
Yes. Our packaging is intentionally designed to be repurposed—boxes can be reused for storage, washable cotton sleeves can be used as carry bags for your mats or props.
What happens to the products at the end of life?
